            To give students an educational edge, they need timely access to 
information, organizational tools and people resources. Goal of this portal was to 
provide “One stop education portal/gateway for Indian students/citizen” by simplifying 
access to people, information and educational processes. 
	My role was to develop and unit test the portlets needed for Scholar 
Registration module and Institute module. Scholar Registration in turn included sub 
modules like scholar identification, institute information updation and institute’s 
Appoval for the same.  The portlets were made using JSR168 API and Java Server Faces 
framework. It also involved integration with WebSphere Process Server for Human Tasks 
and workflows which was done using EJB facade.

	The system employs a “client driven” approach to maintaining client data. 
Instead of storing client data at the account level, it is stored and maintained in 
separate database tables. A client is defined as a unique entity. They are categorized 
as companies, individuals, trusts, charitable remainder trusts, UGMA (Uniform Gift for 
Minor Act), governmental entities, and non-profit organizations.
           Client and role processing in front office provide the pages to view, add and 
maintain all customer information.  A user can add a beneficiary, update address 
information, indicate the date of death for an owner as well as set up multiple payees 
for disbursements and much more. The processing pages involved in these processes are 
described in the following pages.

PSA Marine is a wholly owned subsidiary of PSA Corporation Ltd., which handle all kind 
of maritime needs.  The main services offered by PSA Marine are Towage, Pilotage, Supply 
of water by waterboats etc.

Pilotage is a service whereby PSA Marine will supply pilots for maneuvering the vessels 
into or leave Singapore port limit.  Beside pilots, some vessel will require assistance 
of tugboats to tow the vessel, especially berthing and unberthing operation.

At present, PSA Marine uses an Expert System to support their Pilotage and Towage 
operations.  The Expert System consists of three subsystems, namely Pilot Deployment 
System (PDS), Tug Deployment System (TDS) and Logistic Deployment System (LDS).  PDS is 
used to handle deployment of pilot to vessel order, TDS is used to handle deployment of 
tug to towage job, whereas LDS handles deployment of transport logistic 
(launch/car/taxi/jeep) to transport pilot from one point to another.

The Productivity Web Center (PWC) is an on-line source designed to identify the best 
productivity and inventory opportunities across the Supply Chain Division by utilizing 
the legacy systems and CAS data to project trends onto the future build schedule. This 
site is designed for a variety of users to quickly drill down GET internal shop costs 
and inventory cycles to the finest detail possible from our existing shop floor systems 
and to provide the analysis to correct and control the critical business drivers. 
It includes different modules such as Direct Labor, Indirect Labor, Inventory/Cycle, 
Delivery, Losses and Indirect Expenses. Each of these modules are further classified 
into Component Shop and Assembly. 
The vision for the PWC is that it will be the single on-line location that you can 
depend on to pull significant shop cost metrics, year-to-date and year-over-year. By 
entering the information into the basic filters, you will be able to pinpoint specific 
opportunities in your area to help drive productivity and reduce inventory.

	The Corporate Information Services group spans across US & Canada. The key 
objective of the group is to provide services in the field of Information Management to 
the various GE businesses and to GE Corporate. 
	
	The goal of Market Metrics initiative is to provide data management as well as 
analytical capabilities that will assist GE Corporate Risk Managers in making informed 
decisions.

	eHR application contains four individual applications.I am involved with three 
of them. Those are 
	 DDID(Data Definition & Interface Document)
	              DDID is the application that stores META data (data about data) 
for various applications. It includes Application Name, Table Name, Field Names, Prompt 
Name, Keywords, etc. It also gives overview about the various dependencies within 
application in terms of field mappings. It helps the DDID users (mainly DBAs) to 
understand the structure of the applications and interdependency. Data Privacy is one of 
the modules, which gives overview of the application stored and also validity about the 
data.

Project 8	GE Security Code Review

	Security code reviews are conducted on the source code submitted by each of the 
GE businesses and these are based on the broad level security specifications provided by 
GE Corporate. The security review team reviews the source code thoroughly for security 
loopholes and any non-adherence to the GE Corporate security specifications are reported 
as defects

Project 9	MDO(Multi Disciplinary Optimization) Framework.

	This project includes development of Multi-disciplinary Design Optimization MDO 
Framework. This project is part of CASDE. This involves development of a distributed 
system for automated execution of analysis modules.  This framework will enable to 
perform MDO studies with ease and using all the available resources.
	
	The goals for this framework are
	
	Integrate available disciplinary analysis modules to set up system analysis
	Integrate optimizers with system analysis
	Develop tools and user interfaces for easy problem setup
	Build a distributed computing architecture to use the heterogeneous
	computing resources available over the network
	Provide tools for visualizations of the solution space
	Provide easy debugging and maintenance of the framework .
