Northern Kentucky Toastmasters
In October 1924, a group of men assembled by Dr. Ralph C. Smedley met in the basement of
the YMCA in Santa Ana, California, forming a club “to afford practice and training in
the art of public speaking and in presiding over meetings, and to promote sociability
and good fellowship among its members.” The group took the name “Toastmasters”. Since
that first club was organized, nearly four million men and women have enjoyed the
benefits of Toastmasters membership. The nonprofit organization now has approximately
211,000 members in 10,500 clubs in 90 countries.
Northern Kentucky Toastmasters typically meets on the 2nd and 4th Thursday of each month
at the Northern Kentucky Area Planning Commission offices on Royal Drive in Fort
Mitchell. Meetings are held from 12:00 – 1:00 p.m.
Northern Kentucky Toastmasters was chartered in 2004, and has grown to include 13
members. The club welcomes guests to attend meetings at no charge. For information,
