Summer Reading Orchestra 2007

Carl Bangs, Musical Director(509) 292-8099

The Lilac City Symphony Orchestra is taking on new challenges. Begun as a New Horizons
Orchestra for adults getting their first experience playing in an orchestra, the L.C.S.O.
is now serving a new musical need in the Spokane community. Under the baton of its
conductor, Maestro Carl Bangs, the orchestra has become an ensemble where experienced
amateur musicians can meet the challenges of playing the music of the world’s great composers.

The music for the summer of 2007 will be chosen each week to match the size and ability of
the orchestra. One or two pieces will be rehearsed and performed each week in an open
rehearsal setting. An audience will be encouraged to attend and will be asked for a
donation to a different community charity or school music program.

The orchestra is open to experienced amateurs and advanced high school and college
students. For information about joining the orchestra call (509) 292-8099. We can also be
reached via e-mail at lcso@cet.com

Tax deductible donations of $5.00 per session, or $35.00 for the entire series, are
requested to help defray the costs involved in creating this outstanding recreational and
educational opportunity.

The Lilac City Symphony Orchestra is a nonprofit 501c(3) corporation organized and
supported by its members in the state of Washington.

able to attend.
